Just a short block and a half off of Chicago's bustling North Michigan Avenue shopping mecca known as the Magnificent Mile sits a venerable little townhouse located at 222 E. Ontario Street in which Les Nomades is housed. The little townhouse remains one of the last vestiges of the late nineteenth-century neighborhood, which was home to many of Chicago's most influential families.

Les Nomades, opened in 1978, was the magnum opus of Jovan Trboyevic, a very successful local restaurateur who let go of the need for critical acclaim and established a very quiet, quaint, yet sophisticated private dining house. The current owner Mary Beth Liccioni, who acquired the restaurant in 1993, dropped the members' only requirement in 1996. The evolution of Les Nomades from its inception to its current incarnation has been organic in nature. Greatest care has been given to all the details and appointments around the house to provide guests with a truly sensuous experience; from the crackle of the fireplaces and their warming aromatic glow, to the fine arts adorning the lovely salon walls. Fittingly, the centerpiece to this wonderful setting is a brilliant wine collection and exquisite French cuisine. The award-winning wine list offers Old World and New World selections from our cellar, which houses over 5000 bottles.

The prix-fixe menu, created by Chef Roland Liccioni, is formatted as a four-course or five-course menu with many selections from which to choose in each course. The cuisine is decidedly Classical French, but with nuances that are in keeping with current culinary trends. The sauces exhibit perfect balance and harmony and are superbly intense with flavor. Particularly thoughtful is portion size, which is generous, but never indelicately enormous. Our goal is to satisfy and exceed to expectations.

Les Nomades is open for dinner service Tuesday through Saturday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged, but walk-ins are accommodated based upon availability. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, with proper attire including jacket for gentlemen required. We ask that cell phones and cameras only be used in the lounge area. Private dining is available for groups up to 44. Valet parking is available for your convenience and all major credit cards are accepted.
